No appointment is needed, and most insurance plans are welcome!  Sarasota Medical Center is located at 2830 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota.  Their phone number is 941-927-1234 and their hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 8 am until noon. Dr. Javier Aristimuño
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Aristimuno  moved to the United States as a young teen. After graduating from high school in Massachusetts, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from George Washington University in 1988. He continued his medical education at George Washington University School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1992 with his MD. He completed his residency at the University of Maryland in the Department of Internal Medicine and then continued on with an Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center at Jacksonville.  In 1996, Dr. Aristimuño set his roots in Sarasota working in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital. In 2000, he began working in the ER at Fawcett Memorial Hospital and then added coverage in the ER at Englewood Community Hospital in 2007. In 2009, Dr. Aristimuño and Dr. Mason purchased the Sarasota Medical Center, where today they both currently give the residents and guests of the Sarasota area quality, efficient and comprehensive health care.

Dr. John Mason – Retired 
Dr. C. John Mason grew up in Connecticut. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Molecular and Genetic Biology from Bucknell University in 1982. He then traveled to Louisville, Kentucky where he earned his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio in 1990. After completing his residency, he was recruited to become the Chairman of Emergency Medicine at the Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. During that tenure Dr. Mason earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. In 1997, he moved to St. Louis, MO where he was the Director of Trauma Services and the ER at DePaul Health Center. From 1999-2001, Dr. Mason was the Chairman for the Department of Medicine at Shands AGH in Gainesville, FL. From there he settled in Sarasota and began working as the Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at Doctor’s Hospital. While at Doctor’s Hospital, Dr. Mason became the Chairman of Emergency Medicine for Gulf Coast Emergency Physicians in Port Charlotte. This position brought him to the ER at Fawcett Memorial Hospital and Englewood Community Hospital where he was elected as the Chief of Staff for two consecutive terms. In 2006, Dr. Mason purchased the Sarasota Family Medical Center and shared his time caring for patients there and in the ER. In 2009, Dr. Mason and Dr. Aristimuño purchased the Sarasota Medical Center. Currently they are both working solely in the Sarasota Medical Center keeping the residents and guests of Sarasota healthy with knowledgeable, efficient and friendly care.
