Bent Tree Country Club

IBE Barter wants you to know Bent Tree Country Club.  To provide a more exclusive comfort level to their members and visitors, Bent Tree Country Club has proudly undergone major course renovations during the summer of 2010.   Those renovations are now complete, making Bent Creek the home to new  Champion Bermuda Greens, remodeled fairway and tee boxes.   Bent Tree is so thrilled with the success of their improvements and upscale amenities that a genuine desire on the part of the members is to grow the club with new members who enjoy a fun atmosphere that is laid back and always the best part of your day.

Their memberships have no monthly or annual minimums attached. Come and tour the entire club and see for yourself that Bent Tree is where the Champions play.  Tree-lined fairways of towering mature oaks, expansive meticulously kept greens, and miles of lakes and streams create a unique and tranquil setting for first-class, championship golf at Bent Tree Country Club.

Every effort has been made to retain the property’s natural beauty, where birds and wildlife abound. This unspoiled terrain creates the feeling of a long established northern course. The par 72 championship course provides a thorough test for the exacting golfer, as well as forgiving those with higher handicaps. Bent Tree also believes strongly in many of the long forgotten traditions of the game, and walking to enjoy your round is encouraged at any time. You’ll be greeted enthusiastically by the courteous staff at PGA Professionals who provide all levels of teaching and you’ll find organized weekly and monthly events that acquaint their different members.  For individual play single players Tee Times are always available.

Bent Tree hosted the Sarasota LPGA Classic from 1976-1988. Nancy Lopez won her first LPGA tournament at Bent Tree, and later added her 35th career victory here that gained her entry into the LPGA Hall of Fame.  Past winners list is a virtual “who’s who” in LPGA Golf History:  This grand old lady of the Sarasota, the club, celebrated her 30th birthday on October of 2005

Bent Tree has such an idyllic setting and the grounds are maintained by the excellent groundskeepers who also care for the lakes and streams that are found to be homes for wildlife intrinsic to the area.  The first course was designed by Bill Lewis, and the redesign was masterfully handled by Ward Northrop, including the re-design of the greens in 1994. This relatively unspoiled terrain serves as the back drop for golf in a northern setting.

Designed to challenge golfers at all levels, the course caters to the most exacting golfer as well as forgives those with higher handicaps. Bent Tree has something to offer everyone. Tree lined fairways, expansive greens and miles of lakes and stream combine to create a unique environment with an appealing blend of natural beauty and championship golf opportunities at Bent Tree country club. Bent Tree is a very walkable course and provides five sets of tees ranging from 5,465 to the tips at 6,863 yards. The par 72 layout has two signature holes: the par three 12th hole which requires players to hit a tee shot to carry 185 yards over water to a steep front sloped green protected by a mammoth bunker in the front of the putting surface. Then there is the ever dangerous 511 yard par five 18th which features a double dogleg with water left, right and in the middle to a three tiered green. The back nine is considered by all to be the toughest part of the course.  US Open Qualifiers have been hosted at Bent Tree in the past and the Florida State High School Championship was played at Bent Tree in 1998 and 1999.
