Welcome to the Braden River Animal Hospital, a newer, larger, state-of-the-art- facility with 5 exam rooms and digital radiology! They are an important IBE member. Also included in their expansion is an in-house lab, a dentistry suite and a surgical procedure room with a CO2 surgical laser capability. Of course, and more than ever, they offer compassionate care, excellent customer service, and a staff that loves your pets as much as you do.
Dr. Terry Clekis, DVM, purchased the Braden River Animal Hospital five years ago and has had big dreams of expanding the facility ever since. In order to meet the needs of the ever-growing community, Terry not only had to expand his space but install the latest equipment and make all high-tech veterinary services available to his valued patients.
The new facility is a 5,200 square foot office and employs 20 workers of many talents to man the desk, perform basic vitals and check-ups on your pets, perform laser surgery, digital x-ray imaging, dentistry, acupuncture and holistic medicine. Overnight boarding will soon be available in the old building on the same property. So many plans and so much excitement.
A necessary addition to their hospital is a new on-line pharmacy where you can find your pet’s medicine and get it right from the manufacturer!
Terry Clekis, DVM, whose philosophy is preventative animal health care, is a board member of the Humane Society of Manatee County as well as a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, Florida Veterinary Medicine, the American Heartworm Society, and President of the Manatee County Veterinary Society. A graduate of the University of Georgia in 1983, Dr. Clekis is a resident of Bradenton since 1996.
To compliment his great staff, Terry hired Laura Eslinger, DVM, a native of Delaware who dreamt of being a Veterinary Physician since she was young. Laura attended the University of South Florida where she received her B.S. in biology with emphasis on pre-veterinary studies.

Life is very complex and sometimes you don’t know exactly what to do with what’s going on. Old issues that were not treated or addressed, relationships or work stressors, issues with disabilities or addiction – all of these, if left untreated, begin to chip away at your life as you find no relief, no outlet or a person to help you. For some it’s a giant step to be willing to talk to someone who wants to listen. To seek relief, education and compassion is a big and important beginning towards starting the healing process. Sometimes its old childhood problems such as sexual or physical abuse, abandonment or neglect, that have shaped your life, and you need someone to listen to you and a place to feel safe. Many aspects from your past that you have suppressed may make you feel like a walking time bomb and feel like you’re waiting to explode.
Patricia Musselwhite-Weaver is a Sarasota mental health counselor who offers counseling and education to clients whether they are children, adults, elderly or disabled. She is licensed to do psychotherapy for depression, grief, anxiety, stress reduction, anger management, and relaxation therapy. Patricia is experienced in helping clients adjust to their physical disabilities or chronic illnesses and provide pain management. Patricia is an expert at helping her disabled clients apply for resources and especially for Social Security Disability benefits.
Patricia’s office is a calm and peaceful place with a quiet ambiance – a safe place to talk about your fear and anger. She makes her schedule fit around your needs, offering daytime, evening and weekend appointments. She accepts 100% IBE and most insurance plans, including military and veteran’s benefits. When I asked her where she begins to help relieve people’s symptoms and give them direction with their treatment, she told me that the central issue in many cases is the education piece, where people need to understand the process of recovery. They need a compassionate person to empower and give them a voice, and that is the beginning of healing old wounds.
Patricia was born and raised in Minnesota where she completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota. She then lived in Mexico for 5 years and is fluent in Spanish. She moved to Sarasota in 1980 and completed her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of South Florida. Her master’s research thesis was “Female Victim’s Perception of Relationship Between Spouse Abuse and Alcohol Use.” She` ran a safe house for adult victims of childhood abuse and has worked with ex-inmates from prison.
Patricia has seen and heard most everything from her clients, so don’t think anything you tell her will be shocking. In providing a safe place to let go of fears and really talk about what has happened in the past and what will happen now is a gift you will experience under the guidance of Patricia Musslewhite-Weaver. Anything you tell her is held in the strictest of confidence.
Patricia is married with grown children and two grandchildren. Her original life plan was to become a veterinarian but in her day, discrimination against women was allowed. Friends later dared her to enter graduate school in Mexico and she took a year of psychology classes. People in her life kept pointing her in the direction of counseling and she followed that path. It seems like a perfect fit, as she has been in practice and helping people for over 30 years and she loves her career.
Her office is located at 7012C South Tamiami Trail in the Pine Park Centre, south of Gulf Gate Pavillion on Highway 41, across from the Mazda dealer. Please call her at 941-922-6404 to schedule an appointment. When you log onto the website of the Blue Dolphin Café, the first thing you see are the Today’s Specials at their St. Armand’s location. Peach-Pecan Cheese blintzes, Blue Dolphin Seafood Omelet, Bluefin Crab Benedict, Slirced Sirloin Hoagie, Blackened Sea Scallop Salad, and Soup and Sandwich Combo. My mouth is watering and I know a particular IBE Barter member who is a regular there and it’s his home away from home.
IBE Barter recommends Suncoast Dentistry! IBE Barter Welcomes You to My Sterling Smile. Dr Stephan Pere and his practice want you to feel welcome and make themselves available to answer your questions either by their online email form, or by phone. Throughout their website lies an abundance of information about procedures that are offered by Dr. Pere and his staff. Dr. Pere’s father was also a dentist and he chose to school at the University of Alabama’s Dental School, which was his father’s alma mater. He has been treating adults and children for 15 years. He is extremely happy to perform cosmetic dentistry as well as using Botox, Juvaderm and Dysport to enhance the faces of his patients. The entire team at My Sterling Smile offer their compassionate care along with a totally modern dental office that is family-oriented.
Thinking of my worst favorite thing to do (going to the dentist and listening to that high-pitched drill in my ear while water is squirting down my neck and into my face) I get squeamish, but I know from personal experience it is one of the major health priorities we need to make a big part of our personal health regimen. IBE Barter gives you many choices of different practitioners who have varied specialties, and are trained in certain commonalities that are more modern and longer-lasting, such as dental implants.
Welcome to the office of IBE member Dr. Brett Hirsch and his friendly staff. Making the decision to have a Plastic Surgical procedure is very serious. It’s not just a name you pick out from a website. It’s about the training, the dedication to perfection and the quality of a surgeon’s work that weighs heavily on the choice you make. It has been said that Brett Hirsch is the Plastic Surgeon that other Plastic Surgeons go to, and that says a lot.
